Interns who graduate the program will be qualified to apply as assistant instructors. Benefits include $1500 stipend, room and board (for those 21 years and older) and upon completion of trainings—a multitude of certifications.

We are looking for staff to work with the urban youth of Baltimore and Philadelphia in the following positions for the spring, summer, and fall 2007 seasons.
LOGISTICIANS:
maintain and repair field equipment, vehicles, and grounds; transport groups to, from and between course areas; perform various course start and course end functions; current CPR and first aid; driver’s license with clean driving record; minimum age of 21.
LEAD INSTRUCTORS:
understand Outward Bound philosophy, methodologies and curriculum; experience working with urban youth; at least 2 years experience and willing to work in the outdoors for multiple days; able to demonstrate competencies in a vast range of outdoor skills and challenge course activities; able to manage groups in a variety of settings; current certification as a WFR (Wilderness First Responder) or higher; minimum age of 21.
ASSISTANT INSTRUCTORS:
experience working with youth; experience and willing to work in the outdoors for extended periods of time; current certification in CPR and first aid or higher; minimum age of 21.
INSIGHT INSTRUCTORS:
experience working with youth involving a leadership development based program; plan and facilitate one day programs with a variety of participants; knowledge of high ropes, low ropes and use of initiatives, current certification in CPR and first aid or higher; minimum age of 21.
SPECIALISTS POSITIONS:

GEAR AND EQUIPMENT
MANAGER: manage on a day to day basis all gear and equipment, maintain all related budget lines; manage all course start and course end functions; assist Director of Operations with maintenance of facilities, vehicles, and support staff; able to pass driver’s training and possess a clean driving record; minimum age of 21. This position is based in Baltimore, but does require travel between bases.
FOOD AND HOUSE MANAGER: live in staff house; manage all food related activities for both students on course and the staff house including inventory, ordering and packing; maintain all related budget lines; assist Director of Operations with upkeep of facilities, vehicles, and continuously support field staff; able to pass driver’s training and possess a clean driving record; minimum age of 21. This position is based in Baltimore, but does require travel between bases.
Pay depends on experience, skills, and current certifications and is determined on an individual basis. We provide room and board to seasonal positions.

FACULTY INSTRUCTOR:
Immediate full time openings for individuals interested in working with urban youth. Looking for energetic individuals who are flexible, work well with a variety of people and can travel. Must carry current Wilderness First Responder certification or higher. Must have 2 years experience working in a wilderness setting with youth. Skills in backpacking, canoeing, campcraft, leadership development, teambuilding, high ropes, rock climbing and navigation are preferred. Must pass a background check. $18,000 salary and benefits.
